The greatest thing about being a MOM is having kids to full your life with love, fun and surprises. I am so blessed to have two wonderful sons. Thanks so much, Chris and Sam, for being who you are, and for being such an important part of my life.
Love,
MOM

Nothing like good old fashioned skin art to express our deepest feelings! Of course, my mom wouldn't approve of a tattoo...

Dave, I happened to be up writing when your message popped in...that's a great comment! Now I'm wondering if my mom would have...but I think I have one younger brother, whom Chris has met, that might have had fun with that. He's one of those "actor types"...big smile. But now we all know how fun-loving Chris' mom is! All Things...er...Tattoos Beautiful! Sue

Big hurrah to all Moms out there- and an extra hug to my own!! I love you Mom.
So- is this topic about moms, about tattoos, or perhaps about tattoed moms?? Nice tattoo Chris, but until I get the design for my own ready I am not getting one myself. My mom did though!
After the last-minute post in the previous topic I am happy to announce that not only am I back online- I am now also wireless. So, I could do forum posts on my balcony if I wanted..if me & my laptop would actually FIT on my balcony of course. ;)
Looking forward to catching up here. Elvish tattoos..I mean greetz, Be Inspired!

Happy belated Mothers Day to all the mothers out there (guys can take that as they wish). I hope it was a good one for everyone.
Beautiful day here...for the moment. Yesterday saw some pretty intense storms roll through. Heavy rain, lightning, thunder, the whole works. Unfortunately myself and the border collie were in the middle (literally-the half way point) of our evening run when it hit. We got seriously wet but it was when it started to hail that things got really...painful. The last few blocks to the house were a full sprint but we made it home in one piece. I figured if I was going to get hit by lightning, I was at least going to be a moving target. Note to self...check the radar before running in questionable weather.
Happy Spring days and ATP

Belated Happy (American - ours was way back in March) Mothers day to the Forum Family and their mothers.
um guess I fit this topic since I'm a Mom, with two awesome kids, who thinks tattoos can be really cool, especially so if they are something really meaningful to the person wearing them. Jaske I really look forward to seeing your design when you get it - perhaps having your own balcony will inspire you to come up with something swirly woosh woosh awesome?
I don't actually have one due to being diabetic, but do the next best thing; I regularly use fake tattoos, make up pencils or henna (when can get hold of it) to create temporary tattoos for special occasions, such as Goth festivals, larp etc.
I've not been around much due to having scary ammounts of work to do for the end of course assignments. Hard to believe if I manage to get the 3 outstanding essays written and passed before thier deadlines this monday and the end of the month, that i will have a degree at the end of it (Assuming i pass)all. It's been such a long and difficult three years, which wouldn't have been possible without the support of my family, especially my kids who take over some of the housework when I'm chasing deadlines etc, my close friends and of course everyone here in the forum family for their inspirational stories and comments that keep me sane during tea breaks in the early hours of the morning after hours of study.
btw Tim glad to hear you survived your walk in the storm. Reading your post reminded me how much I love watching thunderstorms from a safe place, and how much I miss having a dog to take on long walks.
Guess it's time to think about getting another one.
Wishing everyone ATP/B with beautiful inspirational tattoos, love and bright blessings
Angi

Hi dear Chris and forum family! I loved to read your marvellous thoughts and feelings here; hope all is well for you and yours.
All best wishes always, to all the wonderful MOMS here and out there; hope you all have a fantastic Mother's Day!
With reference to your previous comments. Thank you very much Sue for your concern, as always. All is well enough here; there weren't any problems with that light earthquake here in Turin, last month.
I enjoyed reading what you all wrote here. Dave congrats for that regional competition with your theatre group; the most important thing, as you said, is that you all had fun to do your good show.
Tim thanks for your kind thoughts and words as well; i'm very glad all went well with that intense storm for you and your border collie. Here in Italy, weather is going to be abnormally hot this week.
Jaschenka, i'm also glad that all is well with your own life and that your internet connection is ok now. Congrats and Best wishes, Angi, for your studies and projects.
Wishing All Things Possible and Wonderful to all of you!

Hi everyone,
Thought I'd check in and wish you all a wonderful weekend. Tim, it's beautiful here this week! So it must be where you are, as well. We can use this reprieve from stormy days...and I loved your storm story!
Jaschenka, glad you're back online and ready to inspire! Your mom's tattoo? Sounds interesting! You'll have to send a photo of you laptopping us from your balcony. So glad things are settling in.
Alex, it's good to hear from you on the forum, and now we have some California earthquakes and I hadn't heard much about it...so hope all is well in L.A. Thanks for the Mom's Day wishes, and to yours, as well!
Dave, hope you have a wonderful summer with theatre. We're going to a new play this weekend in Williamston. Flyover USA: Voices of Men from the Midwest about what it is to be a man in the 21st Century. I'll have to say something about it after.
Angi, it's good to see your post and hope you're surviving all your deadlines.Best of luck and we'll have to celebrate with you. How do you do a virtual toast?! It's been a long journey for you, but what an accomplishment. Looking forward to hearing all about it! Best wishes and Bright Blessings back to you!
Hope to hear Tom's good news soon, too! Be well everyone, and enjoy this all things beautiful May holiday! Sue

HI forum family hope your all well today . Well 4 more days and my boyfriend will be here . yeah! Thenits off to Wisconsin. I lost my job here in Vegas due to the econonmy its just crazy how they have shut down these new hotels and casinos that are almost finished. The construction here is pretty much at a stand still. I guess they are waiting for the banks to get there crap together. WE have bailed them out but i have no idea what they are doing with the money. I'm going to Wisconsin cause my friend and former rommate here in Vegas has offered me his moms farm house to live it rent free and just pay utilities and keep the lawn in good shape so they can sell it. For now that is a good deal... A bit off topic here well that is a nice tattoo Chris, I personally would not get one. They are a bit permanant. But another form of self expression. I remember as a kid that only sailers had tattoos. I asked my dad whyhe never had one, he said well at that time and I,m not sure if it has changed but it was against the catholic faith to have your body tattooed or pierced in any way as it is considered Gods temple so to speak. OH well not sure there take on it now but as antiquated as they are I assume there stance on this still holds true. oh well thats another discussion best left un discussed LOL. I will let you know how things go with my BFS arrival and our move to the cold cheese country. love and namaste! my friends.

So am I the only one who suspects that it isn't Chris's arm in the photo, looks a little "thin" for Chris but photos can be deceiving, and if it is that the tatoo is temporary(unlike his love for his mother)?

OK...this is funny. I'm trying to do some serious writing here but I'm having too much fun checking your new posts and the ads showing up on the sidebar of my GoogleMail, as they ring in, about Mother of the Year Book, Tattoo Ideas, and Mommy Jewelry.
But you're keeping me awake, as I plod along on the book summary I promised I'd finish by tomorrow. I guess the next question has to be: "Will the real Chris Showerman, please show his...arm?" You may be right about that:). Well, it looks like we could be in for a long holiday weekend, that seems to be starting up early! All Things Beautiful to you! And fun! Sue
PS Dave, I'll hope to post back about the Williamston production...should be great!

Hey Sue - I'll be looking forward to your report. This past weekend we closed "Alice in Wonderland" in which I played Tweedle-Dee and the Mock Turtle. The show, for those interested, wasn't the Disney version but the "Prince Street Players" version. Neither version stays true to the book - which I just finished reading for the first time - but this version is a little better IMHO than the Disney stage version which is a "Junior" version and changed even more significantly than the Disney movie was!
In regards to the changes, how many folks out there in ATP land know that Tweedle Dee and Dum are not in "Alice in Wonderland?" The make their appearance in "Alice Through the Looking Glass."
That might be an interesting topic now that I think of it - why are movies and plays often so different than the books they are based on? A current case in point is "Angels and Demons" which opened last weekend. I haven't seen it yet myself but I understand that there were several key changes made to the film version in terms of plot and motivation!
Just a little late night wondering before getting some rest prior to the long holiday weekend (in the U.S. at least).I hope you can all take some time to remember those who gave everything to help secure our freedom today on Monday.
And Sue - enjoy the weather - after a long cold winter it's great to be able to complain about the heat and humidity again isn't it?

Sue, i look forward to read your report too. All best wishes for today and always; hope you're having a Fantastic All Things Beautiful, Possible Birthday!
I enjoyed reading your new thoughts and updates here, Dave and Tommy. We all hope to hear from Chris news and updates, soon..... :)
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend and a Memorial Day weekend in the US. This weekend there'll be severe heat wave conditions here in Italy.
Be well everyone! ATP!

Hey all. Good to see you are all enjoying Summer. Over here weather has been nice for the past days so we finally feel we are joining the fun!
@Sue; actually, my mom has three tattoos, and very cool ones too.
The tattoo on the pic is definitely a real one I'd say- it's not shiney enough to be fake..but I too have my doubts about this being Chris' tattoo. ;)
No photo's of me laptopping (is that a word really?!) on the balcony. It's too small to sit there and we have stuffed it with plants and such. No room left!
DaveW; that theatre production sounds awesome and YES I knew that those characters are from Through the looking glass. :) Do I get extra points now? You might be interested in listening to a very cool version of the Jabberwocky poem from that same book. Here goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBjSX6YqRZI
I'll be spending my Sunday with like-minded people in tartans at Keltfest this weekend. Have a fantastic summer, everyone!

Hey everyone,
Just thought you might be interested that as part of my family's annual Memorial Day observance some of us go around to the various cemetaries and plant flowers, etc. as a way of both honoring and remembering those family members who have gone before us. Anyway, this annual trip does take me through Chris' old high school stomping grounds - and Chris, I don't know how often you get back to Stockbridge but there have been big changes...a new McDonald's on the south side of town just off of M-52! Hey, don't laugh folks, for small town america this is actually pretty big news - at least it would be in my hometown. It was a nice day for a drive through rural Michigan today. The trees are green, the flowers are in bloom. All in all a nice day even if it was overcast.
Oh, and before I forget, yes Jaschenka you do get extra points! Be sure to save them for fabulous prizes. The Jabberwocky poem, btw, is one of my favorites though I'm more partial to "The Hunting of the Snark" (becasue sometimes a Snark is a Boojum you see).
Take care everyone!

Dave...you were out in our neck of the woods? Family in Stockbridge?
Just wanted to say I caught the note here...and will write back tomorrow...unless someone changes the subject...and then I'll write anyway:) I'm still thinking about the play. Enjoyed it. I think you would like it Dave...I have to come up with a blog about it...so wish me luck as I'm not a theatre critic. Just know what I like...as in all the productions I've seen there so far. TBC/ATB! and ATP!Sue
Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Hey everyone,
Big hugs and smiles to ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE OUT THERE, not just the MOMs! :)
Funny, my first thought also was, that's not Chris's arm, is it? For an actor it would be a difficult place to have such a large tattoo, I think.
Angi, good luck with your exams. Since you studied so hard for so long I am sure all that work will pay off now. Keep us posted!
Dave, I did go see Star Trek - wow, what a ride! I hope they make more of those. Though I must say, the fact that Winona Ryder plays Spock's mom made me feel just a little old... ;)
Did anyone get to see "Defiance"? -awesome movie!
A little VIDEO ALERT for you all: Chris's film "The Land That Time Forgot" will be released on DVD on July 28. It is already available at amazon for pre-order:
http://www.amazon.com/Land-That-Time-Forgot/dp/B0028R1MAU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1243231052&sr=1-2 (Don't know if that works as a link, if not, just copy and paste into your browser).
Have a great day and Stay Positive!

Hey Y'all!
Thanks so much for the comments!! Hope you are all having a great memorial day weekend! Nope, it's not my arm in the photo - but an arm compliments of the internet. Thanks Ute for the heads up on "The Land that Time Forgot." I had no idea when it was going to be released! Hope you had a great time at the Keltfest Jaschenka, and best of luck to Sue with the theater writing. @ Dave - there's a McDonald's in Stockbridge??!?!?! That's huge!
Have a great Memorial day!

Chris
