Real Steel

Hey All!!

Just wanted to give you a heads up on a new movie coming out that my pal Dean edited and our very own Dave W. acted in:

Real Steel was shot in Detroit and the surrounding areas last year and Dave stars as one of the boxing fans in the stands. In fact, he may appear in the same shot several times thanks to the magic of digital audience replication!! I'll be looking for you Dave!

I'd also like to say Happy Birthday to all of you who have your birthday in the most popular month for birthdays! Especially, I'd like to wish my wonderful lady a very happy birthday on October 5th - the most popular day for being born! (If you do the math, it's about 9 months after New Year's Eve.)

Happy Birthday Pumpkin'

And finally, I want to wish a heartfelt thank-you to one of my favorite souls in this life. Thank-you Shelley for spending your all too brief time on this planet with us. We love you so much and miss you! You were an amazing friend.

Happy October! Make the most of it!

All Things Possible!
Chris

    Hey Chris,
I'm so sorry to read about your loss of Shelley. I miss several of the pets I've known a little bit every day.

Also, thanks for the mention of "Real Steel" from what little I've seen it looks to be a great movie - and it was great fun to be an extra in it. Now I know why you like being in and producing movies so much. It is an interesting thing to watch being made and it's incredible how many people it takes to make one. Especially a major production like this one was.

Oh, and please extend my best birthday wishes to your lovely lady!

    DaveW

Hello everyone, since I happened to be up late and thought the topic might change, I checked just now:) So, ATB/P blessings are in order...to Dave, for doing what you love and being in the movies!; to Natasha for a beautiful birthday; to you both for the memory of Shelley. As I said during the Sept topic, I'm glad to be part of this forum, with the love and compassion for animals you share. And, Dave, and Tim, the forecast is beautiful...let us enjoy! Look forward to stories of Real Steel:) Sue

Hey Dave! Good to hear from you again! And congratulations on the movie! I have been a movie Xtra too--perhaps sometime on this blog I'll have to mention my illustrious movie "career"! Don't worry, it won't take very long to make a list.....but it doesn't matter what position on the totem pole you occupy in the amazing process of movie making--you ALWAYS have lots of neat stories to tell about it! And I have LOTS of those, but will spare you folks(for now....). And SO SORRY to hear about your Shelley, Chris and Natasha--and right when we were talking about our own pets of the past. A really good photo of her--I'm inclined to think now, as Tim speculated earlier, that Shelley is a Shiba? Us curious animal geeks would like to know....and isn't there another, similar member of your pack still? That is all that keeps me from going into a serious funk when one of my dogs passes on--I have to keep on for the rest of the pack. I have had so many, too, over the many decades, so many memories. And dogs have always been the only constants in my life--humans tend to be very peripheral and temporary in my life, for whatever reasons(maybe BECAUSE I have so many dogs?). I have had so many dogs that, in fact, I am GUARANTEED a place in Heaven, as ALL dogs go to heaven, of course(it's automatic in their case), and the angels assigned to taking care of my humongous accumulated pack are getting purty tired of dealing with them, I'm sure, so will absolutely insist I arrive there to take responsibility for them all eventually, numerous past infractions wiped clean! Hallelujah! More'n one way to skin a cat, as they say(oops, sorry Zou-Zou).....L.B.

    Greetings my beautiful family forum!

Chris, so sorry about Shelley and tell your lovely lady Happy Birthday from all of us.

My son was going to audition for Real Steel, but being that the kid swears, he deceided not to. You can only be young once.

Sorry I have not posted in awhile. I have a cold/flu, I can not shake.

The music video that I worked on was just realeased. Thought I would share the link. I would love to know what you think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIWOoAT7DhQ

    Tanya!
That was awesome. So very cool. It always amazes me how you are able to catch each other "blind" and not miss. I got the blind part down but I fall on my face when running on flat ground. I am so jealous LOL. Thanks for that link. Hope you are feeling better.

    Hello dear Forum Family.

Good to see everyone gather here for the October blog.
Happy Birthday of course to Natasja; hope you had a Magical one.:)
Another little birthday wish to Kieren Hutchison today, who is not only 'responsible' for putting me in contact with my dear friend Ute but also got me to know our forum host through the 'Sea of Fear'movie. Seems like ages ago now!

Chris and Natasja,so sorry to hear about your doggy Shelley- it's always hard to let a companion like that go, but one of the certainties when getting into a friendship like that. I am happy to see you cherishing the good memories! Looks like all animal-lovers on this forum can relate to that. My Luna turned 10 last week and she really starts to show her age now too.
Dave, will have to keep a look out for that movie and do some background-spotting. Tanya, get well soon; you have a parcel to get!! ;)
Wishing you all a lovely autumnish October- the time of swirly wooshwoosh leafs. (We just finished a Jacky Skellington gown at work for the Halloween parties!)

    Be Inspired!!

Hi Chris and everyone. Best wishes to Natasha for her birthday and all! I'm so sorry for your loss of Shelley... I well know what that means... I could tell many wonderful stories and amazing great ATP synchronicities happened to me through the years with fabulous souls of dogs, cats, other kinds of animals or plants too!

Thanks Sue for your thoughtful words and for the appreciation on my previous comments. Yes, i'm for true love-friendship, awareness, intuition, truth, honesty, smiles and laughters which are my legacy too.

As we all know weather has been and will be so much extreme as climate is changing fast. That will bring further big changes in many ways to the environment and life on this planet. Just for example we had the warmest Spring and early Autumn ever; weather has been like in an incredible hot, dry Summer even in the first part of Autumn and glaciers melted.

Best of luck Tanya for your health; congrats for your work and video. Congrats Dave for your works also in "Real Steel".

Thanks Tim for sharing videos, Jaschenka and Lane for your thoughts and stories; all the best with your dogs.

Have a good and safe automn everyone! Take care!

Good to hear from more of the blog "pack", which have obviously been ranging about on the outskirts of the territory! Greetings to Tanya, Jaschenka and Alex! Jaschenka; Luna is a Border Collie, right? Have you read any of those Border Collie books I mentioned awhile back? And Alex, you don't have to tell me the climate is/has changed. We used to ALWAYS get snow every year where I have lived in North Carolina--now we rarely do. I have seen the weather grow warmer and warmer each decade(and I've seen a few of those!)--maybe I notice more than other people around here as I am outdoors in it all the time. And being a sled dog afficiondo, I REALLY miss the colder winters and snow......And Tanya, okay, I managed to watch the video(and read an article about it too). And okay, it was a neat video, and the trapeze stuff was marvelous--BUT! Gotta put in a bit of hillbilly critique here--If'n that woman(the author of the books? And you were representing her character on the trapeze?) is gonna be havin' to run frum devil worshippin' accultists--she REALLY needs to git some more praktikul footware--them slick-bottomed high-heeled calf-length boots jest ain't cuttin' it! An then she hunkers down next to a big signal BONFIRE tryin' to hide frum these folks? Jest not very brite. She had plenty of chances to kick sum a' thim fellers right where it counts(whereas thim boots mighta bin sumwhut useful), but no, she never did. Don't know how she could possiblee end up escapin', especially with one a' them's sord--musta left that part out. But I reckon she could sell that thing fer a good price down at the flea market......L.B.

    Greeting family forum,

Thanks Tim, Alex and Lane for your kind words. But Lane tell me how your really feel. I just choreographed and did the stunts. Didn't direct the video. And you DO have some valued points. I proud of what I did and even more proud of the stunts that ended up on the cutting room floor. Still waiting for the uncut film, so I can make my own.

    Hi everyone,
Before we take off into more territory outskirts to where the river runs through it (between Michigan and Canada - in Algonac where we both had our first after college jobs teaching and lived when first married)for a camping visit with the "Huckleberry friends" I wrote about in a blog last fall -- figured I'd better take my turn on this great forum of truly awesome ATP people.

I was thinking about you all tonight because I went into the living room to turn off the TV, but first turning to CNN to see what was on. I must have been meant to see the Johnny Depp interview with Larry King, because I caught nearly the whole thing. There I sat, mesmerized, both by the actor that I admire (always thinking of Chris whenever I see Johnny Depp) and for the great interviewing by Larry King. Kept picturing myself interviewing, and thinking, well, maybe I wouldn't be too shy to interview a person like that. He seems very approachable, and very intuitive. And I love the way he has seemed to follow that inner voice throughout his life. Just wondering what you all think about it. The Lone Ranger movie sounds terrific and wow, a Dr Seuss something in the works. Chris, I can hardly wait until you are able to make the wonderful movies you want to make to make a difference in the world. Well, I said that Johnny Depp always reminds me of you and your work...always has, always will.

Love the postings here. Since I've already written a Suenami, just want to thank everyone for the great thoughts and responses to my postings. So good to hear from those in the outskirts, right, Lane? Miss hearing from you all. I love the "blog" pack.

And ZuZu is asleep on my lap. I spelled the name wrong of the little girl in Wonderful Life....ZuZu...although there is a ZouZou somewhere in movie, and that is the front part of my Twitter name for fun. Just because I like the sound of it and FUN is what life needs to be about. Even if it did take me decades to 'get it':). That's another reason I love this forum. Because you all have ATB and ATP hearts and you all have fun...and it's a place to encourage each other to do that:)
    Happy Sunday! Sue

Hi everyone; hope you all are well and have a Happy Halloween!

Thanks Lane for your right comments and observations about the climate change. Here is a new eloquent video http://berkeleyearth.org/movies.php which shows very well temperature anomalies since 1800 then the global warming which contributes to increase extreme, dangerous, opposite weather events all over the world. Take care!
