Do you ever wonder...
Happy July!! I hope you're having a phenomenal stupendous summer so far!!
But just in case you're not...
Do you ever wonder why rotten things sometimes happen to you? Despite all of your best efforts, truest motives, and purest intentions, your undertaking was underwhelming? Or maybe someone didn't treat you the way you know you deserve to be treated? Your outstanding performance or magnanimous gesture went unnoticed? I could go on and I'm sure you could add to this list too.
If none of the above applies to you, you're most likely extremely young or not human.
As to why these things happen to us, I have no idea.
HOWEVER I do believe there is a hidden benefit from these experiences if we choose to recognize it. Every negative experience can either make us more bitter and removed from the world OR we can become more empathetic and compassionate because of them. Some of the kindest and amazing people I've known have endured some of the heaviest tragedies life has to offer. To the untrained eye, one might say they have been softened by the blunt hammer of heartbreak. I say these experiences have developed in them the toughness required to maintain a gentle strength in the face of adversity. These are the quiet heroes that break our fall and help us back to our feet to face life's inevitable struggles. We all have angels like that in our lives that fill us with awe and humble reverence for their poise, fortitude, and depth of humanity.
So with whatever challenge you may be dealing with in your life, take heart. You're simply deepening your own power of compassion and substance that you might one day be that living angel in someone else's time of need.
All Things Possible,
Chris

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls;
the most massive characters are seared with scars.
the most massive characters are seared with scars.
