Jack Plotnick

Whenever I am really inspired by something in life, I typically like to share it with you all here in the forum.  Well, I am eager to tell you about an amazing actor that I met last night thanks to my friend Paty who could not stop singing this guy's praises!  Jack Plotnick is an actor has put together some fantastic ideas about getting out of your own way and trusting in a creative force.  He gave a seminar filled with really inspiring ideas that resonated with what I have always wanted to believe but flew in the face of most of the training I have had so far.  He brought a real world practicality and self acceptance to the craft of acting that can be applied in any endeavor - just change the word "acting" to whatever it is that you are aspiring toward in your life.

So rather than paraphrase Jack in this forum, I'm just going to give you a link to one of his many pages of thoughts on his website.  This one deals with the EGO (or your VULTURE - as he puts it) and how it limits your potential when you give it power.  Really fascinating and really loving!

just a snippet:

"It's time you took back control of your thoughts!  There is only one thing you can control in your life, and that is your thoughts.  The negative thoughts will always be there.  Everyone has a vulture on their shoulder.  it is how you react to those fearful thoughts that will dictate how you experience your life."

Brilliant!!!!!!

The amazingly talented Scott McKowen

OK, I have to brag a little bit.  This amazing artist below is my step-brother.  Of course, because we're not officially blood relations, I share absolutely NONE of his artistic gift via genetic osmosis, but I'm still really proud to be able to claim Scott as family.

A big day for Birthdays!

Happy August everyone!  I just wanted to announce that an inordinant number of friends of this blog have a birthday TODAY (August 5th)!!

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Clint - my producing partner and friend.  He's been celebrating for a while now because his birthday starts 17 hours earlier over in Melbourne than it does here in California.   Also Happy Birthday to Ufuk in Turkey and Tanya in Las Vegas!  I had the great pleasure of meeting Tanya last week during a quick trip I had to Las Vegas and she's just as sweet in person as she is on the blog!

So to all of you celebrating your birthdays OR your UNbirthdays today - have a phenomenal day and a fantastic year!!
