Happy New You!

If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else!

Well it's about time for Auld Lang Syne (fyi: that's Scottish for something like "Times gone by") to play off 2012.  Most news outlets will recap the year by telling us which luminaries died in the past 365 days along with the top global tragedies.  I encourage you to purge your though of that at least for the moment and focus on all of the amazing things you have personally experienced throughout the year.  What surprised and delighted you?  Who said just the right thing to you this year right when you needed to hear it?  What new people did you meet this year that you chose to keep in your life?  How much did you grow physically, mentally and spiritually this year?

As I have mentioned before on this forum in different words, I love New Years not only for the nostalgia of appreciating the year we've all just lived together, but for the excitement and anticipation of what dreams may come in the new year.  A fresh clean slate awaits for you to draw your life upon and the only limitations you have are those you choose!  It's time to dream and design your future and believe in that future you have created.  In other words, the new year is a great time to set goals for yourself and start being conscious and taking control of the life you're living.  Besides, after pouring so much time, effort, and emotional energy into the holidays, it's not uncommon for some people to feel a little drained and spent.  This is a great time to get infused with a lasting inspiration and passion for your life!!

I know many people like the tradition of making New Year's resolutions and even more people actively choose NOT to make any promises to themselves to avoid the pain they may experience should they break that promise.  So let's not call it a resolution this year.  Let's draw up some goals for your life so you have a game plan for where you'd like to go.  Have some short term, medium, and long term goals that inspire you and give you the excitement in your life that makes you want to jump out of bed and attack your goals with gusto!!  After all, I believe it is less about WHAT your goals are and more about HOW they make you feel while you're pursuing them and WHO you become along the way!!

I am a big fan of Tony Robbins.  I have attended his workshops and read his books and listened to his recorded programs.  Yet I STILL need to be reminded on a shockingly regular basis to stay the course of my dreams and goals and WHY they're important to me.  Here is an excerpt from one of Tony's seminars:

Life will PAY whatever price you ask of it.  - Anthony Robbins

Inspired yet?  Now here is a FREE download from Tony's website of a Goal Setting workshop you can do at home.

Now remember not to limit yourself and ALL THINGS are POSSIBLE!!

Happy New Year!

The Law of Emergence

I went to a holiday party yesterday and bumped into my friend Derek, who I see about once or twice a year at gatherings like this.  We had a wonderful chat and I walked away inspired as if he had breathed some new life into me.  Derek is a gifted speaker and writer who specializes on The Law of Emergence.  Here's a video from his website:

I hope you'll check out Derek's website at http://derekrydall.com/ and possibly come away with the same uplifting renewal that I did.
